WE'RE MOVING ON TO STATE!

Image
Hey everyone, fantastic news, Geared Reaction is moving on to the State competition after a well-deserved victory at Interleagues yesterday, December 16th. We're all super thrilled for this opportunity and can't wait to try our hand against teams from all over the state of Washington. Of course, we didn't get much rest the night before because of all the excitement! Total domination! In our first match we came very close to taking the win, but there was an error in scoring and we ended up losing instead. In the next few however, our momentum picked up dramatically and because of this we were able to garner the attention of a few high-profile teams there, who decided to choose us for their alliance. Although we did make it to the final matches, our main reason for advancing was the winning of the FTC  Connect award, which basically means that we have done an excellent job of connecting robotics to real engineering professions, as well as recognizing the importance of...

Interleagues Here We Come!

Image
Hey everyone, hope you're doing well, because we certainly are! We're extremely hyped to participate in our (semi)local interleagues competition in Tacoma, WA, which will be the very first competition that will allow us to advance to the State competition next month! The team has been working super hard on the robot and they've dedicated so much of their time and passion to making sure it's as consistently functional as possible and that we get the privilege of taking home the gold for this competition, so to speak. Putting on the finishing touches When we arrive and start participating in our first matches, our main goal will be to grab and/or push the glyphs (foam cubes) into the cryptoboxes (or IKEA shelves, a nickname many of our members are quite fond of) and attempt to form stacks and rows, as well as patterns (after decoding the pictograph on the wall). If you're confused as to what the heck I'm talking about, check out the official First Tech Chal...

Hey everyone, is this thing on? So first of all, my name's Josh and I am the reporter for the Union High School Robotics Club, which contains the FTC team Geared Reaction #6559. I have a responsibility to keep people interested in what we do as up to date as possible through any means, such as Twitter, Facebook or Instagram. I also dabble in the art of photo-taking and help to document things through pictures as well as (grammatically correct) sentences in our Engineering Notebook, the place where the documentation is, well, documented! This site will be our new blog where you'll learn about what we've been doing lately, what our plans are, cool things we come across and maybe we'll even try to help your FTC team out (if we like you, of course 😀)! Find us at:                                                       @gearedreaction Geared R...
