Repair Cafe was Successful!
Hey everyone, hope you're doing well! We have some great news today, the Repair Cafe event at Fort Vancouver Regional Library was a a major success. This event was intended for people to bring in their damaged or broken items and have them repaired so they wouldn't go in the landfill and create even more environmental problems. We had a small table set up in the corner near the entrance, where people entering the library could easily view the robot demonstration and talk to us about robotics. Our stuffed birb (bird) also got a chance to ride around in the robot for a while. Although people of all different kinds migrated over to our setup eventually, we were particularly ecstatic about the number of little kids that showed interest in the robot. A few really seemed to enjoy holding the foam glyphs out for the robot to grab, and it was even used as a delivery system to hand out candy at one point!
